Jnanpith Award winner and eminent writer Pratibha Ray’s husband Akshaya Chandra Ray passed away here on Friday. He was 77.
Akshay Ray was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here due to illness. Though he was discharged from the hospital on the day, his condition suddenly deteriorated, following which he was readmitted to the hospital at around 4 pm.
However, he breathed his last during treatment, family sources said. A retired Government engineer, Akshaya Ray was the publisher of Adya Prakashani.
