The State Government is planning to organise an annual Biswa Odia Sammilani (World Odia Meet) from this year. This was decided at a high-level meeting chaired by Culture Minister Mahswar Mohanty here.
The State Government would take the help of Odia societies based in various countries and various cities of India in organising the Biswa Odia Sammilani on the model of the World Kannada Meet and World Tamil Meet.
It was decided that this year the Biswa Odia Sammilani would be held in Bhubaneswar. During this meet, the Government would organise exhibitions to
showcase the State’s cultural heritage.
A seminar on Odia art, culture, history, literature and other important topics would also held. Prominent Odias from across the world would be invited to participate in the event.
