The World Heart Day was celebrated at the KIMS here on Monday beginning with an awareness rally “Walk for heart” from Patia square to the KIMS. The rally was flagged off by KIIT University VC Dr HK Mohanty.
In the evening, a public awareness meeting was held in the KIMS auditorium being inaugurated by Prof JP Das, cardiologist. Dr Panchanan Sahoo, Head of KIMS Heart Centre, welcomed the guests, doctors, students, nurses and the assembled public.
Dr SS Mishra joined the meeting as speaker and highlighted lifestyle modifications and Dr Ratan Rathod, Prof MGM Medical college, Mumbai, highlighted the three dimensional (3D) treatment of coronary artery disease and importance of spiritualism and meditation. Dr A Jena and Dr BB Mishra discussed about the recent advances in cardiology and cardio surgery.
