A secretariat of the 39th World Congress of Poets (WCP) was inaugurated at the KISS campus here by Dr Achyuta Samanta, president of 39th World Congress of Poets 2019 in the presence of executive board members of the WCP and WAAC Jacob Isaac and Dr RK Das. The 39th WCP would be organised at KIIT and KISS from October 2 to 6. A website of the meet was also launched on the occasion.
Over 1,000 poets and writers including Noble Laureates from 75 countries and 2,000 delegates from India would participate in the event. KIIT and KISS are set to host it in its style marked by grandeur and glitter. Appreciating the efforts in preparation for the event, Dr Isaac said, "WAAC and WCP is lucky and blessed by your leadership this year."
Prof Samanta remarked that the congress would see a good academic exchange as poets and writers from across the globe would come together. “I feel it will definitely give a very good boost to poets and writers in the State of Odisha and in India as well." he added.
