A workshop on Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) was organised by voluntary outfit Swati in association with the Save the Children here on Monday.
Swati secretary Harisankar Rout said that both Swati and the Save the Children are making joint efforts to bring down the IMR and MMR. And due to different programmes undertaken by the bodies, all gram panchayats under the Phiringia block in the district are sensitized on the health issues.
later, Save the Children district officer Manoj Kumar Mishra spoke on the scenario of maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition in the district and called upon the Panchayat Representatives to extend support to improve the situation.
later, Ashok Kumar Parida from the District Development Council spoke on the execution the Mamata Yojana in the district and stressed on how to include the beneficiaries deprived of the benefits of the scheme. As many as 50 Sarpanches of the district, Zilla Parishad members attended the meeting.
