VS Vidyalaya of Sunabeda organised a workshop on ‘Methodology of Teaching Mathematics’ on Sunday last. The participants were the Mathematics, Nursery and Environment Science teachers of the school, apart from teachers of different other schools of Koraput , Jeypore, Damanjodi and Semiliguda.
The workshop was inaugurated by school Principal Hemanta Kumar Seth. In his welcome note, he highlighted the versatile personality of resource persons of the workshop Dr Dilip Kumar Bhattacharya.
Former Professor of St Xavier’s College, Kolkata Dr Bhattacharya emphasised on the methodology of teaching Mathematics in elementary level and appealed to the teachers to identify the thinking level of the students and formulate the teaching method so that the teaching learning process will be more effective. He dealt with the concept of number system, place value of numbers on the abacus, fractions, types of fractions, basic approach to percentage and many more topics in a lucid manner. Vice-Principal PK Mishra gave a vote of thanks.
