The Nikhila Orissa Bidyut Sramik Mahasangha on Wednesday hailed the decision of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) revoking the licenses issued to three distribution companies (discoms) Nesco, Wesco and Southco managed by the Reliance Energy ltd (REl) and demanded a CBI probe against the discoms.

The Mahasangha also demanded immediate audit by the CAG. Hitting out at the State Government for not complying with the order of the Supreme Court in the late Surendra Mohanty Vs Reliance Energy case, Mahasangha general secretary Akshaya Kumar Tripathy said the three discoms are yet to deposit Rs 200 crore to the Government.

“The three discoms are neck deep in corruption by not investing a single pie in infrastructure development, quality power.  We demand a CBI probe against the Reliance for submitting forge documents before the OERC,” said Tripathy.
