Tense situation prevailed in the industrial hub at Kalinganagar after the body of a worker found near the coal yard of the Jindal steel plant under the Jakhapura police station in Jajpur district on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rajib Kumar Das of Pattamundai in Kendrapada district. He was working as a supervisor in the plant.The worker’s death triggered a surcharged atmosphere at the plant site as his agitated colleagues resorted to cease-work while demanding Rs 6 lakh as compensation to the bereaved family members. They also decried the lack of safety measures atthe plant.
