A worker was killed in an accident on Monday in an illegal quarry in Hatidei hillock near Anjira village under Jenapur police station.
A portion of a hillock caved in on the worker while he was digging stone. Villagers retrieved the body. The deceased worker was identified as Dharanidhar Tarei (23) of Sandhapur village. Another worker sustained injuries. Police are investigating the case, said Jajpur Road SDPO Jugal Das.
