After a couple of days of silence, expelled BJD leader Damodar Rout on Monday resumed his antics swearing that he would not let the ruling party win any Assembly seat in his native Jagatsinghpur district.
He told the media here that whether a new political alignment, mainly of non-BJD, non-Congress and non-BJP forces, emerges or not before the coming elections, he is determined to prevent the BJD from winning any of the four constituencies in Jagatsinghpur district.
Rout said he would not mind if the Congress comes out victorious in these constituencies in the absence of an alternative outfit.
He repeated his tirade against several BJD leaders, including Jagatsinghpur district president Bishnu Das, Surjya Narayan Patro and Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani, and said they had made critical remarks against Naveen Patnaik when Patnaik emerged on the State’s political scenario.
However, Bishnu Das refuted the charge and said that on the other hand, Rout had refrained from joining the BJD when it was formed and even described the party symbol Conch as a “Snail”.
