A 32-year-old drunkard man was tied to a tree and thrashed by a group of women in village Tikarsahi under Jaraka gram panchayat of Jajpur district on Saturday as he had assaulted his wife and parents.
“We tied Padan Samal to a tree in our village as he beat up his wife and parents in his house. We will not allow any villager to consume liquor. large numbers of daily labourers have been spending their hard-earned money for consuming liquor,” said Bharati Samal, a woman of the village.
Padan suffered minor injuries on his body as he was thrashed by the women. Some women used brooms to attack him. His wife Bobby also encouraged the women to beat her husband. later, officer of Jaraka police outpost laxmidhar Das reached the village and rescued him.
