Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Athagarh Susant Rana was taken hostage by irate women villagers at Radhaballavpur dengue-ridden village on the outskirts of Athagarh town.
As per report, Radhaballavpur under Dhaipur Panchayat has been under the grip of dengue since last one month where about 10 patients have been hospitalised in different hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. However, the villagers, including the women members, appealed to the local administration for quick remedy but the later did not heed.
After several reminders, nobody from the administration or from the local hospital rushed to the village. On Thursday, when the ABDO had gone to the village, the women member took him hostage and agreed to let him off after their demands were fulfilled.
