In a bid to aware women about their legal rights and duties, the State Women Commission in collaboration with Society for Health, Education, Environment and district Social Welfare Wing organised a legal awareness programme here on Sunday.
Hundreds of women including self-help groups (SHGs), Anganwadi workers, supervisors and CDPOs took part in the programme.The women were imparted training on protection of women from domestic violence, rape and laws pertaining to sexual assault, rights of victims, marriage, divorce and other legal aspects.
State Women Commissioner lopamudra Baxipatro, district Collector Shyam Sundar Nayak, commission members Kusum Rath and Snehnjli Mohanti, local MlA Manohar Randhari, DSWO Ranjita Das, DSP Urdhab Charan Nayak, Manorama Majhi and Nidarsini Rath spoke on the occasion.
