A camp court of State Women Commission was held here on Wednesday. Commission Chairperson Dr Minati Behera, district Collector K Sudarshan Chakraverthy, SP B Jugal Kishore, ASP Tapan Pattnaik and District Social Welfare Officer Kusum Mishra heard the cases.
As many as five cases were mutually settled among the eight cases where both the parties were present. Out of 23 cases, 13 petitioners were present and in two cases the respondents attended the court.
While one case was referred to the District Mediation Centre, notices were sent again in 14 cases. While two fresh cases were heard in the court, equal numbers of cases were dropped as the parties didn’t turn up on repeated dates.
Earlier Behera visited one distress home ad district headquarter hospital and enquired about the care and wellness of the inmates.
