The Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMCC) will observe April 11, the birth anniversary of Kasturaba Gandhi, as a protest day across the State against atrocities on women.

Addressing a Press conference here on Saturday, PMCC vice-president Manju Mohanty said members of the district Mahila Congress units would observe the day with demonstrations before their respective Collectorates from 9 am to 1 pm wearing black tapes.

PCC general secretary Sabitri Sahu alleged that the graph of rape, gangrape and murder is increasing by the day and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who holds the Home portfolio, has no control over the police administration during these 14 years of the BJD tenure.

Among others, senior PMCC leaders Ratnamani Ulka, Pranati Mishra and Minati Singh were present at the Press meet.
