Women applicants, landoustees ignored

The Indian Oil Corporation limited (IOCl) refinery project here has ignored the women candidates in its selection for apprentice in different disciplines. On December 4 last, an apprentice written examination was held at The Mother Public School, Unit - I, Bhubaneswar for 30 seats. Over 100 women Diploma and Degree holders had applied for it. But not single woman candidate was eligible for written examination. Women candidates’ applications were rejected without sufficient reasons. Even the family members of local land losers and displaced family were not given a chance. HR Manager GK Sahoo and DGM-HR TK Pattnaik dodged queries. Now, the locals have demanded that Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan take action against the officials discriminating against women.
