In a bid to ensure better delivery of its programmes, the State Government on Tuesday included the Women, Child Development and Mission Shakti Department under its Mo Sarkar initiative.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the programme through videoconferencing at the Lok Seva Bhawan here.

Under the Mo Sarkar programme, the Chief Minister, the concerned Minister and department officials would seek feedbacks from the beneficiaries of different schemes.

The Chief Minister said the department has undertaken many programmes to curb malnutrition and infant and maternity mortality rates. Besides, the department’s employees have set an example by working hard for empowerment of women. Patnaik also advised the officials to continue their good work and not encourage corruption.

On basis of feedbacks from people, the service delivery system would be strengthened. While officials would be rewarded for good work, stringent action would be taken for any kind of dereliction of duty, the Chief Minister said.

5T Secretary V Karthikeyan Pandian, who was present at the programme, said directives have been issued to the officials to include only Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to provide sattu to Anganwadi Centres. He also asked the department staffs to clear the bills of SHGs and other service providers and timely provide revolving fund and infrastructure fund of Mission Shakti.

The Government has decided to include all the departments under the Mo Sarkar initiative by March 5 next.
