While a botched family planning operation of a woman by a doctor had hogged the limelight in Kendrapada tw days back, in yet another faulty operation, a doctor here while repairing the uterus of a woman removed the uterus itself at a private clinic.

If sources are to be believed , one Rangalata Behera (36), wife of Prasant Behera, a resident of Baradanga under Mahakalapada police limit, was  suffering from prolapsed complication. As per the advice of her doctor ,  Rashmi Ranjan Patra, her husband admitted her on December 20 at  Santasahi-based Durga Nursing Home to undergo operation for the repair of her uterus.

Dr Patra allegedly removed the uterus of Rangalata and informed the family members after completing the operation about the act, alleged Prasant.

As his wife would not able to become a mother once again, Prasant lodged an FIR at the Kendrapada Town police station against the Dr Patra.

When contacted, IIC Sanjeev Kumar Mohanty stated that a case had been registered and an inquiry was on.

Meanwhile , district Collector Muralidhar Mallick, on Thursday, directed CDMO Niranjan Swain to conduct a probe and to submit a detailed report.

“We are waiting for the inquiry report of the CDMO and later steps would be taken as per the report,” said the IIC.
