A woman thrashing another in public view at the airport here on August 15 went viral on the social media and became a hot topic of discussion in the city on Friday.
The woman, who is reportedly a journalist and a resident of the Khandagiri area in the city, got information that her husband and another woman with whom he had a long time relationship, were arriving by an AirAsia flight from Bangalore. When the duo arrived at the airport, in a fit of rage she manhandled them.
She said one year after her marriage in 2010, she came to know that her husband was having an affair with another woman. She many times requested them to end their relationship but in vain. So when she came to know that the duo had gone to Bangalore and were returning here on August 15, she thought to catch them red-handed and teach them a lesson.
On Friday, after she came to know that the incident has become public, she approached the city DCP to lodge a complaint.
Meanwhile, DCP Satyabrat Bhoi said that appropriate action would be taken after the woman registers an FIR or if she and her husband want reconciliation, the case would be transferred to Madhyam. But if she insists on action, it would be taken as per law.
