Babilata Behera, Supply Inspector, Kaniha block in Angul district, was arrested by the Vigilance police for taking bribe of `43,000 on Wednesday.
Vigilance officers caught Behera red-handed in her office room while she demanded and accepted the bribe from Nirod Kumar Sahu, sub-wholesaler of kerosene oil of Kaniha block, to sign in an utilisation certificate of kerosene distribution for April 2014 and to issue the release order for May 2014 in Sahu’s favour.The bribe money was recovered from Behera’s vanity bag wash.
