A mob allegedly stripped a woman, tonsured her head and paraded her naked around Karakachia village near loisingha in the district suspecting her of indulging in immoral activity.
The incident came to the fore on Monday.
Sources said four persons of the village had allegedly abused the woman in filthy language on June 3, following which the matter was resolved in a village meeting.
However later in the same night, a group of men and women of the village barged into the victim’s house, shaved her head and paraded her naked along the village street in full public view.
later on June 6, the woman lodged an FIR at the loisingha police station.
“We have started investigation based on the complaint filed by the woman. The guilty would not be spared,” said a police official.
