In a shocking incident, a woman was stabbed to death by her own sister over a family dispute here at Patharbandha slum near Vani Vihar. Following the incident, the accused surrendered at the Mahila police with a spade.
The deceased was identified as Sebati Singh. According to police, Sukanti, elder sister of the deceased, had got married to one Bapi Singh, a few years back. However, later, Bapi kept relation with Sebati and married her.
“Sukanti was unhappy over the marriage. They often engaged in quarrels and many a time, they attacked each other. On Friday, while Bapi was away, a disturbance erupted between the two sisters and Sukanti committed the crime in a fit of rage,” said a neighbour.
Meanwhile, police recovered the body, sent it for post mortem and forwarded the accused to court.
