A woman journalist, who has accused Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty and his brother Anuprash of misbehaving with her, staged a dharna at the Purighat police station here on Sunday demanding action against the accused.
She said, “The IIC of the police station is unable to take action against the MP and his brother due to political pressure on him. Moreover, investigation into the matter is yet to commence though I had lodged a complaint a month ago. I was told that the case hasn’t been assigned to any police official for investigation.”
She further alleged that she is being threatened and lewd remarks are being passed at her by associates of the accused. She would continue her dharna before the police station till she gets justice, she said.
In her FIR lodged at the police station last month, she has alleged that Anuprash used to pass objectionable comments at her whenever she was on her way to work on the city’s Choudhury Bazar-Nandi Sahi road.
She had gone to meet Anubhav at his house to draw his attention towards the matter, but the actor-cum-politician allegedly misbehaved with her and even spat at her, she has alleged.
Notably, a case under Sections 294, 354 (A), 323 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against Anubhav and Anuprash on the basis of woman’s complaint.
