A woman was allegedly raped by a friend of her husband in the presence of the latter at Kandira under the Rajanagar police station in the district on June 20. The incident came to the fore on Tuesday.
The woman in her complaint to police stated that her husband called one of his friends, Braja Mallick, to his house when she was sleeping. Braja allegedly raped her in the presence of her husband. When the woman offered resistance, her husband thrashed her and threatened her by brandishing a knife.Later, she informed her parents about the incident and lodged her FIR with the Rajnagar police on June 22. Police have registered a case and are investigating into the incident. “Investigation into the matter is on. The truth behind the incident would be ascertained after arrest of the accused and the woman’s husband,” said Rajanagar IIC Tapan Kumar Nayak.
