A body of a woman Physical Education Teacher (PET) was found hanging in a room at Hatat Colony in Umarkote of Nabarangpur district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Tanuja Biswas, who was working as a PET at the Jamrunda Residential Girls’ High School.
According to reports, Tanuja’s father found her hanging in the house after he returned from a local market in the morning.
Getting information, police reached the spot, sent the body for postmortem and initiated an investigation into the incident.
The reason behind the PET taking the extreme step was yet to be ascertained.
A suicide note, suspected to have been written by Tanuja, was found near the body. It has been mentioned in the note that no one should be held responsible for the death. The note has been seized by police.
