A 37-year-old woman has allegedly been molested by an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police in Kendrapada district. The woman has lodged an FIR at the Rajkanika police station against the ASI of the PS for “outraging” her modesty in the absence of her family members when the ASI had gone to her house in connection with a land dispute case.
Rajkanika PS IIC Bijay Mallick said Rangalata Nayak, wife of Rabinarayan Nayak, a resident of Deogaon, on Friday lodged the FIR against ASI Sridhar Mahalik.
The police have started inquiry into the case, said Kendrapada SP Rabinarayan Behera.Meanwhile, Sridhar Mahalik was absconding from the area, informed sources.
