Former Marketing Intelligence Inspector and In-Charge of Departmental Storage Agency of Nabarangpur block in Nabarangpur district Kamakshi Sarangi has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for one year and pay a fine of Rs50,000, in default of payment of the fine to undergo RI for three months more in a case of corruption.
She is at present working as the Marketing Inspector of lamtaput block in Koraput district. On the completion of the trial of the case, the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore, pronounced his judgement on Monday. Kamakshi Sarangi was charged by the Vigilance department with misappropriation of PDS rice worth Rs6,30,850.
