A woman Maoist, Somey Sodhi (33), surrendered before police in Malkangiri district on Friday. She was carrying a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh on her head, police sources said.
Sodhi, hailing from Edikonda village in the district, was reportedly involved in several incidents of murder, including killing of 2 BSF personnel at the Kaliajodi forest in 2016, blasting of a vehicle carrying SOG personnel at Mantriamb in 2010, exchange of fire with security forces and torching mobile phone towers.
She was working as ACM in the Boipariguda Area Committee of Malkangiri-Vishakha-Koraput Border Division of the outlawed CPI(Maoist) organisation from 2005 to 2017.
Sodhi would get monetary assistance as per the Surrender and Rehabilitation Scheme of the State Government.
