A cadre woman Maoist on Friday surrendered before the Additional Superintendent of Police at Bonai.
Maoist Sushanti alias Muli Munda, who was active in the Jharkhand division of the CPI(Maoist) organisation from 2010 to 2015, was carrying a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh on her head. Sushanti said she joined the Maoist organisation due to her husband’s advice.
“After his death, I have come back to my house,” said Sushanti, adding that she would never return to the Maoist base for the future of her child.
She belongs to Bonai block of Sundargarh district.
“I was mentally tortured and made to stay away from my husband. That is why I decided to surrender and return to the mainstream,” said Sushanti.
Police said she would be rehabilitated as per the Government scheme.
