Two bike-borne miscreants looted Rs two lakh from a woman at Bhalukipatala Sahi under the Town police station in the district on Saturday.
Sources said Deepanjali Mohapatra, a resident of the same locality, had withdrawn cash from a State Bank of India branch in the town in the afternoon.
When she was about to return home, the looters, who were following her, snatched the bag containing the cash and speeded away from the spot. Later, Mohapatra lodged a complaint in this connection, based on which police negan a probe. “An inquiry into the matter has been launched. We will examine the footages of CCTVs installed in the bank premises,” said a police official.
