A woman Lecturer of a private college committed suicide over suspected family feud at Kesura SBI Colony in the city late on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Asima Nayak. She was working as a Lecturer at the Gourav College of Commerce Management and Science here.
Sources said Asima committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house.
Later, Asima’s husband rescued her in a critical condition and rushed her to the Hi-Tech Medical College Hospital, where she was declared brought dead by doctors.
Asima had a bitter quarrel with her husband, following which she took the extreme step, added sources.
Police seized the body and sent it for postmortem while further investigation into the case was underway.
