A woman allegedly killed her husband at Mahipur village under the Tushura police limits in Balangir district on Friday night. The incident occurred at around 2 am when the 40-year-old Dibya Singh Bhoi was sleeping in his room.
According to reports, the deceased’s siblings found his wife Jashoda Bhoi running away in wee hours of Saturday from the room where he was sleeping. After seeing it, they rushed to the room and found their brother lying in a pool of blood.
The family members rushed him to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College Hospital in Balangir, where he succumbed.
The family accused Jashoda of killing her husband in his sleep with a sharp weapon. However, the reason behind the murder was yet obscure. On receiving information, the Tushura police reached the house and initiated a probe.
Till the last report came in, Jashoda was absconding from the area. According to family members, Jashoda is mentally-ill and under medication for her psychological disorder.
