The Vigilance police on Saturday caught Krushna Priya Mandal, Junior Engineer (JE), Deogaon block in Balangir district, red-handed while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
Mandal had demanded the bribe from a beneficiary for clearing his pending bill towards construction of a cowshed built under the MGNREGS.
Following the trap, searches were carried out on the rented residential house of Mandal at Balangir town and office room at Deogaon block. Later, she was arrested and forwarded to court.
