In a shocking incident, a woman and her 11-month-old son burnt to death after the bed in which they were sleeping came in contact with a burning lantern in Keonjhar district late on Thursdaynight.
According to reports, the deceased labangalata Nayak and her infant Subham were sleeping in their house in Palanaghati village under Ghatgaon police station when the mishap occurred.
labangalata along with her son slept under a net and had kept the lantern near the bed.
Unfortunately, the net caught fire from the lamp where the mother and son were in sound sleep. When the husband of labangalata woke up after hearing the screaming both the deceased had already suffered major burn injuries at that time.
They died on the spot.
