A 38-year-old woman was arrested and forwarded to court by the Raghunathpalli police here on Sunday for allegedly killing her husband suspecting him of having an affair with another woman.
Deceased Prabhat Sahu (38) was running a chowmin stall in the STI area and staying with his wife Asha, a 15-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter at Gangadharpalli here. Asha was suspecting Prabhat of having an affair a girl of the same area and had been protesting the extramarital relationship.
On Saturday night when Prabhat was sleeping, Asha hit his head with a spanner at around 10.10 am in front of their daughter. Prabhat bled profusely and his condition became critical. After coming to know about the incident, neighbourers rushed Prabhat to the Rourkela Government Hospital, but doctors declared him received dead.
After getting information, police went to the hospital and seized Prabhat’s body. On Sunday, Asha was brought to the Raghunathpalli police station and interrogated. She confessed her crime, following which police arrested her and forwarded her to court. After conducting postmortem of Prabhat, police handed over his body to his family members.
