In a tragic incident, a woman, who had been put on Covid isolation centre in the District Headquarters Hospital here, committed suicide after knowing her husband’s death on Thursday.
Reports said that the couple was Hyderabad returnees. They were put up in a quarantine centre at Erasama on Wednesday night. After the deceased's husband complained of chest pain, he had been shifted to the DHH for treatment and the woman was in the isolation centre.
However, the man succumbed to his heart ailment on Thursday afternoon. Knowing it, the woman committed suicide by hanging herself inside the isolation centre.
Police have started an investigation. Meanwhile, the deceased's husband’s swab report revealed he was Corona negative. The deceased's swab report was awaited.
