A 23-year-old woman, who was arrested by Kamakshayanagar police on Sunday night on the charges of killing her 3-year-old daughter, was allegedly found dead inside the police station hazat on Monday morning under suspicious circumstances.
She was soon rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. The deceased Pravati Sahoo, wife of Brajabandhu Sahoo of Parjang village under Kamakshayanagar police station limits, was arrested following a complaint of her father-in-law Kailash Sahoo that she had fled with her lover after killing her 3-year-old daughter by poisoning on May 5.
Following the incident, Brajabandhu, who is working in a hotel at Bilaspur in Uttar Pradesh, had come to the village. According to police, Brajabandhu had brought dinner for Pravati on Sunday evening. “We suspect that Brajabandhu might have mixed poison in the food to take revenge on an infidel wife,” said a senior police official, adding, that investigation is on to know the exact reason of the death.
“The exact reason of her death would be known after postmortem and action will be taken accordingly if anybody is found guilty,” said the senior police official.
