In a gruesome incident in Godisahi of Odagaon in the district, a domestic feud led a woman to feed her two minor sons poison before she consumed poison to end her life too.
The woman and her sons were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital. While the woman, identified as Banabasi Sahu, died, the two boys were still battling for their lives in the hospital.
Hospital doctors said that while the elder son’s condition was very critical, the younger one was still not out of danger. They were under treatment and observation. Shortly later, they were referred to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack as their condition further deteriorated, said the hospital authorities.
The woman died because she had consumed a large quantity of poison. The incident cast a pall of gloom in the area.
