A man of Ganganagar under the Airport police limits here on Thursday alleged before police that his newly-wed wife locked up his father and eloped with her boyfriend.
Sandip Nayak also accused his wife Namita of decamping with gold jewellery worth over Rs 10 lakh and cash of Rs 1.5 lakh while his father was sleeping.
In his complaint with the Airport police, Nayak stated that Namita, whom he had married in February this year, took advantage of his absence and ran off with her boyfriend.
As per the FIR, Namita was having an extramarital affair and hatched this plan with her lover when Nayak was away and her father in-law was sleeping.
When Nayak tried to get in touch with Namita after getting to know about the incident, she did not receive the phone calls, the FIR stated.
The Airport police said a case has been registered and the matter is under investigation.
