Due to supply of wrong blood type, a patient allegedly died on Sunday. An FIR was lodged at Jharsuguda Sadar police station against a private nursing home later. Ramani Panda (62), wife of Rohit Pandey in Debadihi village of Jharsuguda town, was admitted in a nursing home on August 20. As alleged by brother of patient, Tularam Naik of Kurebaga village, the patient was feeling weak due to shortage of blood. The blood group of patient , i.e. B negative identified on August 18, was presented to hospital authorities. But, overlooking report, another group "O negative" was administered to patient by nursing home people for which patient died, it was charged in FIR. Due to negligence of hospital people, patient died for which strong action will be taken against defaulters after joint inquiry with CDMO, said IIC of Sadar PS.
