A 62-year-old woman, Annapurna Behera of Puri, died in a stampede occurred at the Shreemandir during Sahana Darshan at Snan Mandap on Monday. According information, Annapurna fell on the ground after another woman snatched a gold chain from a neck. As she shouted 'chain snatcher, chain snatcher, devotees ran hither thither leading to a minor stampede. Though she was rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital, doctors declared her dead there.
