Tension prevailed at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here on Tuesday morning after the death of a young woman, who had been admitted to the hospital for suffering from ear pain.
The woman’s family members alleged that negligence in treatment led to her death. They filed a complaint with police in this regard.
Police reached the DHH and took the situation under control.
Baleswar ADMO Sasanka Sekhar Choudhury said action would be taken against the concerned employees if they are found guilty after investigation.
The deceased was identified as Bhagyashree Pati hailing from Raipur village under the Singla police limits in the district. Following age-old home remedy of ear pain, the family members had poured simmer oil in her ear, but in vain.
As the pain increased, Bhagyashree was admitted to the langaleswar Primary Health Centre and was later shifted to the DHH.
