A 108 ambulance hit a truck from its rear side that killed a woman and injured two others, including her eight-month-old baby boy, at Dala Chhak under the Jajpur Road police station late on Wednesday night.
The ambulance, which was carrying the woman and her baby, dashed against the stationary truck which was parked on roadside. While the woman died on the spot, the injured ones were rushed to the Jajpur Road Government hospital.
They were later shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack as their conditions deteriorated.
Police recovered the woman’s body and started an investigation into the mishap.
