In yet another unfortunate incident, a pregnant woman gave birth to her baby in a pickup van as ambulance failed to reach on time in Rayagada district on Thursday.
According to reports, Sunita Bhatriya hailing from Palakhamana village under Singari panchayat was taken to the Kalyansinghpur Community Health Centre (CHC) by her family members in a pickup van as a ‘102’ or ‘108’ ambulance didn’t reach the village after her husband called for the emergency service.
The woman gave birth to her baby in the vehicle while she was on the way to the Kalyansinghpur CHC. later, the newborn and the woman were taken to the CHC, where the health condition of the mother-baby duo was reportedly stable.
