A 30-year-old woman delivered a girl child in a passenger train compartment on Monday when her train Sikandrabad-Guwahati superfast express was detained in Jaleswar station. Several passengers while travelling in trains on the South Eastern Railway (SER) section suffered untold woes as trains were detained for hours for an indefinite period in different stations due to picketing near Nekursani station of West Bengal bordering Odisha.
It was held by an outfit, Bharat Jakat Maji Paragana Mandal, demanding provision of proper infrastructure for upliftment of Shantali language and other related issues.
