Palpable tension prevailed at a court premises here after a woman constable of the CSI office allegedly misbehaved with a lawyer in the CSI office. According to District Bar Association president Bhimasen Bhuyan, on Thursday afternoon, one Ananta Ballav Satapathy, a lawyer, went to the CSI office to inquire about a bail petition moved before the SDJM court.
While Satapathy was discussing with a constable, the woman constable, Nayana lenka, allegedly started misbehaving with him without any reason. The situation turned into such an extent that the woman constable threatened the lawyer to beat him. As a result, Satapathy brought the matter to the notice of the Bar Association members.
On being informed district SP Satish Kumar Gajbhiye and SDPO Purna Chandra Pradhan rushed to the spot and held discussion with the District Judge, Bar Association president.
As per the decision, the SP withdrew the woman constable immediately from the CSI office and also assured the lawyers to initiate departmental proceedings against her. He also assured the lawyers to take action against the errant constable within 15 days.
