The Odisha Police on Saturday placed woman Inspector-in-Charge Snigdharani Suna under suspension for ‘gross misconduct’.
DGP Sunil Bansal initiated departmental proceedings against the IIC, whose Maruti Ertiga SUV was involved in a road mishap killing three and injuring six persons who were travelling by an auto-rickshaw.
During the period of suspension, she would remain under the disciplinary control of the Sundargarh Superintendent of Police, the order stated.
Earlier in the day, Ajay Jethi, the person who was said to be driving Suna’s SUV got bail from a local court in Sundargarh. He has been booked under Motor Vehicle Act as he did not have a valid driving licence.
