The wife of a merchant navy captain has filed an FIR with the laxmisagar police here alleging mental and physical torture by her husband.
The woman has also prayed for stringent action against her husband M Balakrishna and safe custody of her two minor daughters. She stated in her FIR that she has been a victim of severe torture for the last 10 years. Whenever he is at home, he forces her to serve liquor to his friends at odd hours. Out of fear, she and her daughters keep themselves locked in
a room.
Besides, her husband always alleged forcibly demanded one acre of land from her parents. He has once even attempted to attack her father and misbehaves with him often. Now, she is residing in a rented house with her two daughters out of fear of her husband, it was alleged.
She further stated in the FIR that her husband has threatened to stop monetary support to her and is not afraid if she approaches the Mahila Police. He boasted that he would win over the police as he is financially well-off and has a lawyer friend.
However, the husband told the media, “It’s a family problem. We’ll try to solve it. The allegations are totally false.”
