Woman’s throat slit during loot bid in city

Published on:

Even though an adequate number of police forces have been deployed in the State capital city for the lockdown, criminals are still active and carrying out their nefarious activities even in broad daylight.

On Monday morning, a miscreant attacked a young woman with a sharp weapon during a loot bid at Nayapalli’s VIP Colony. The entire incident was captured in a CCTV camera, which was installed in the nearby area. In the footage, the miscreant can be seen intercepting the woman and threatening her in a lonely stretch. Then, he attacked the woman’s neck with a knife before fleeing the spot. A loot bid was suspected to be the motive behind the attack.

According to sources, the miscreant left the woman when she screamed for help. The injured woman was later admitted to a hospital. The Nayapalli police registered a case and began investigating into the incident.

The cops also examined the CCTV footage to identify the culprit. The rising unemployment and loss of livelihoods due to the lockdown imposed is believed to have led to the increase in street crimes in the capital.
