In another such incident, a dead body of a woman was reportedly carried on a cot for five km to reach her house due to absence of a motorable road in Kalahandi district on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Bagabila village of Dedhasuli gram panchayat under Madanpur-Rampur block in the district.
According to sources, Jamunti Majhi was admitted to the Balangir District Headquarters Hospital on Monday. However, she died there later in the day.
An ambulance carried the body till Bodensara village and could not move further due to bumpy road. The kin of the deceased had to arrange a cot to carry the deceased to their village, which is 5 km from there.
